Fourth year in a row IA Adam Raoof will be Chief Arbiter for our Rapidplay tournament. He organises chess tournaments in London, across the UK, abroad and is also the arbiter at Checkmate TV filmed at Gatwick.

This is the easiest and preferred method to enter. Ideally you should be a current member of the English Chess Federation at SILVER level or above (as it will be cheaper for you!). There are several payment options when entering online:

Grading and Rating

Eligibility for the sections will be based on the latest available ECF grading list. The following priority will be used for section allocation and pairing:

1. ECF rapid grade
2. ECF standard play grade
3. FIDE rapid rating — converted to ECF grade
4. Other grade or rating — converted if necessary

Seedings and pairings within the sections will be based on FIDE ratings.
